homemade chocolate chip cookies

Aah, cookies and milk. This is the quintessential traditional mom snack. Make these homemade chocolate chip cookies your go-to, no-fail family favorite.

Let’s face it, some classic mom homemaking habits are just taken for granted. Baking chocolate chip cookies is just one of those things that we assume all moms do. If you don’t have a favorite recipe yet, let me encourage you to try this one.

Chocolate Chip Cookies for The Win

Sure you can bounce around Pinterest each time you want to bake a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies, or even (Gasps!) buy a roll of slice ‘n bake cookies from the store. But why would you? Once you have tried these perfectly chewy cookies you will never look back.

What makes these cookies so supreme is the use of browned butter. This next-level step really ups the flavor impact of these cookies. Don’t be afraid of the little bit of extra effort these homemade chocolate chip cookies require. The taste and enjoyment are well worth the added time in the kitchen.

An Added Touch Goes a Long Way to Impart Flavor

This is not a fussy recipe. In fact, once the butter is prepared and cooled it comes together with relative swiftness. Soon the scent of freshly-baked goodness will be wafting through the house and everyone will be drawn in by the intoxicating aroma of your creation.

Like most of my recipes, I encourage you to do with this what you will. If your family does not prefer walnuts, change to pecans or omit entirely. If y’all are not fans of the rich flavor of butterscotch, then use white chocolate. It really is up to you where you take this recipe. Just don’t skip browning the butter!
